Art therapy and art – all tap into one of the oldest gifts of humankind. Be it image, materials or story – art media enable people to explore and give form to their extraordinary inner life, so they can bring it out into the external world, see it and grow insight and ideas.
If people stay driven by beliefs like “I’m not creative”, “I can’t draw” or “paint,”, they miss out on the precious gifts of personal insight, clarity, wisdom, inspiration, ideas, connection, creative fire, inner strength, spontaneity that can be gained from embarking on a personal journey and engaging with their inner landscapes.
So, for example, a Silver Owl session would never teach you how to draw a tree. It would however support you in finding your own inner tree, discover its essence, its season, where its roots are planted, what nurtures you, what constitutes water, sunlight, fruit, and what you might need to shed before you can go on to grow and live some of your creative potential. Our personal metaphors, whatever form they take, contain valuable riches that can guide us through the difficult moments in life and work.
In sessions, you get to experiment with a wonderful tactile variety of 2D and 3D art and natural materials, including natural objects such as sand, stones, moss, felt, wool, clay, as well as 2D drawing and painting materials.
Pia offers Art Therapy sessions for people going through life transitions, and Creative Pit-Stop sessions for people who would like to get in touch with their creativity. If you have any questions or would like any more information, please get in touch with Pia for a chat.
