Colour & Calm

National Lottery funded logo

As part of a National Lottery funded Hornsey Lane Community Centre creative project, women aged 50+ came together for art-making once a week. This was a non-directive course, and women were encouraged to explore their creativity through a range of different materials, paint, chalk, felt, textiles, clay.

It was equally very moving to hear women talk about growing up in London, post WW2. Story and history interweaving.

Colour & Calm also involved making a visit to the TATE. To celebrate participants’ creative work, we invited them to choose one of their art pieces to be turned into printed postcards. Please see below for examples.
